The Knee Replacement that Never Was
A man in his thirties was preparing for a knee operation. He had lost the cartilage in both knees and so needed knee replacements (or so he was told). His job entailed alot of walking and he had been told by his doctors that the wear and tear was simply too much. According to their great wisdom he would have to change his job and get new knees! I found their reasoning ludicrous, because man is made for walking and though this man walked all night, it was on even firm surfaces with appropriate footwear. The question was, “Why were the cartilages not regenerating?”. Upon the examination of his lifestyle it turned out that he was a night worker and drank large amounts of very good coffee! We removed the coffee from his diet and in a month his knee problems disappeared. Of course this is merely coincidence!
